There"s no question
Kevin Jonas, Sr. tweeted this out (below) to kick off the controversy:
Love @katyperry new song but the video for #Rise is identical to @oliviasomerlyn #Parachute pic.twitter.com/oRD0irADwV

And while he got a TON of reaction from fans of every stripe on the social network, it"s best to just take it to the videos themselves to see what U think!
Ch-ch-check out Somerlyn"s Parachute (below):
And then immediately after, ch-ch-check out Perry"s Rise (below):
Inneresting…
For what it"s worth, a rep for the director of Rise — Paul Gore — told reporters that the similarities are entirely coincidental, saying:
"The filmmakers created a video for Katy Perry having never before seen the other video. Any similarity is pure coincidence."
Even Parachute director Ryan Pallotta weighed in on the controversy, saying:
"Paul Gore is a revered director and I"m sure he wouldn"t knowingly copy anything. It"s just a parachute there are lots of them in prop houses and I would chalk this up to coincidence."
Hmmm…
